How Long Should You Leave Coconut Oil In My Hair?
Everyone has their own way of using coconut oil. Not saying that other tutorials are bad but generally speaking we advise you to let the coconut oil absorb for at least 3 hours this way the coconut oil can really get into your hair and the scalp.
After letting it
absorb for 3 hours the best way to wash it out is by shampooing your hair. The
shampoo that works really well to wash out the coconut oil is the coconut
miracle shampoo from OGX. You can buy this product here.
There are lots of
different shampoos too but we have tested lots of different shampoo brands but
keep coming back to the one mentioned above.
For conditioner, we use this. Conditioner also has lots of different brands and types. The conditioner that we think is the best for washing coconut oil is the one we mentioned before. However, it all comes down to personal preference so it’s all up to you.
Should You Apply Coconut Oil To Wet Hair?
No, it’s not the best
option to apply coconut oil to wet hair. We think that coconut oil works the
best when your hair is dry and clean.
You can apply coconut oil to wet hair but from experience, we don’t really like that because your hair will get all sticky and the coconut oil won’t run as smooth through your hair.
How Much Coconut Oil For Hair?
Apply a generous
amount of coconut oil to your hair. It’s good to make sure that your hair if full
of coconut oil. It’s not very expensive so you don’t have to worry about that.
Make sure to use cold-pressed coconut oil because that’s better for the hair. Do not microwave it to let it melt. Coconut oil won’t have the same effect if you microwave it, so use cold-pressed coconut oil and melt it by rubbing it through your hands. It should melt really easy and you can use it immediately.
However, you don’t
want that coconut oil starts dripping down your hair. So use a generous amount
but try not to use all of it.
A normal jar of coconut oil can last us between 3 – 6 months. It depends on how often you use it and how much.
How Often Should You Use Coconut Oil For Hair?
Use coconut oil once
or twice a week. The benefits that come with coconut oil are really good but
try not to overuse it because overusing every product can be bad.
If your hair is still
really dry you can maybe use it 3 times a week but you should use it moderately.
It’s also possible that you don’t need to use coconut oil once a week because
your hair is already healthy and shiny. If that’s the case try to use it once a
month and see if it will better your hair.
Can Coconut Oil Cause Hair Loss?
Every one has
different hair so it may be possible that your hair type doesn’t like coconut
oil. This can lead to hair loss. If this happens to you, you should stop using
coconut oil immediately.
Some of the main
reasons why you lose hair are:
- Poor nutrition
- Stress
- Anxiety
So make sure that you
stay healthy and stop using coconut oil. There are lots of different types of
products on the market which can make your hair better. Coconut oil has a large
fanbase which means that a lot of people will start using this.
Which also leads to some
people that don’t like using the product or their hair just doesn’t like it. It
does have a bit to do with genetics since your hair has grown this way.
Try to drink more water
and stay hydrated to control the hair loss and shampoo only once or twice a week.
